EMERALD Stipend Overview
The
EMERALD Stipend is a funding initiative designed to support scientists affiliated with Polish research institutions in expanding their expertise through short-term
visits to EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory) sites. This opportunity enables researchers to access EMBL's world-class laboratories, core facilities, and collaborative environments across Europe. It also provides funds to attend EMBO/EMBL courses, workshops, and conferences.
Key Features:
- Funding Amount: Covers up to €1500 in expenses related to the visit, including travel, accommodation, and fees.
The EMERALD stipend may be used to support a range of professional development and collaborative activities, including but not limited to:
- – Participation in network meetings aimed at fostering collaborations with EMBL researchers;
-
- – Visits to EMBL laboratories, core facilities, and user services to enhance research capabilities and technical expertise;
-
- – Travel costs associated with attending EMBO/EMBL courses, workshops, and conferences, contributing to the researcher’s scientific growth and international engagement.
-
The stipend will be paid in form of reimbursement, based on documents provided after the visit.
- Target Group: Scientists working in Polish research institutions, including universities, institutes, and medical research centres.
- Purpose: To foster scientific exchange, promote collaboration, and provide hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies available at EMBL.
- Eligible Destinations: Any of EMBL’s core facilities and laboratories, such as those in Heidelberg, Hamburg, Grenoble, Rome, Barcelona, or EMBL-EBI in Hinxton or EMBO/EMBL courses, workshops, and conferences.
This stipend is part of a broader effort to strengthen ties between Polish research communities and EMBL, encouraging innovation and international cooperation in the life sciences.
